One of the most enchanting experiences
you will have on the Middle Fork of
the Salmon River is seeing the
wildlife in their natural habitat.
Have you ever seen the powerful collision of two Bighorn rams like a couple of kids?
You have a chance to see all of this on the Middle Fork.
Have you ever seen a mother black bear swim across the river with two cubs
following in her wake?
Have you ever watched otters playing
on the bank like a couple of kids?
Have you ever watched a doe and her fawns come down to the river for an evening drink?
And chances are you'll see a lot of it.

Because we drift silently along with the current, we can slide up on them like a
breath of wind. Many times they don't even know we are there, and if they do, they don't seem to care. One word of advice
about the wildlife up here:
